Jaba Ioseliani

Jaba was the leader of the Georgian paramilitary organization Mkhedrioni, and was instrumental in first supporting, and then fighting against, independent Georgia’s first elected president, Zviad Gamsakhurdia.  Later Jaba Ioseliani was a member of Georgia’s ruling Military Council, eventually bringing in Edward Shevardnadze to lead Georgia.
